Lex Luthor's campaign for the White House concluded in the Superman: Lex 2000 one-shot. Consisting of four short stories written by Jeff Loeb and one by Greg Rucka, the special showed the build up to the announcement of Luthor's victory and its effect on his enemies. The stories included a piece by WGBS TV reporter Catherine Grant on Lex's life (with art by Tony Harris); Batman warning Luthor that he would be watching ( drawn by Dwayne Turner); and Superman taking his rage out on a passing comet (art by Ed Mcguiness). The election result made Luthor more menacing - as he had the whole government behind him.
